If you've considered teaching K-12 but think you have to hold a baccalaureate in education to do so, here's some great news: You can hold a degree from UC Merced or other accredited institution in any field to apply to the one-year Teacher Preparation Program through UC Merced Extension.
Due to Covid-19, CBEST testing is deferred for up to one year.
Financing is available to those who qualify.

UC Merced students who completed the NSED minor may pay lowered tuition and complete the program in less than one year based on previous course work and verified fieldwork completed.
